One thing I'm confused/curious is that whole adoptables thing. What I understand is people buying someone's character and some pay a lot of money for it. I'm not talking about ten or twenty bucks or some DA-points, I'm talking about hundreds maybe even thousands of real dollars!
The drawings are often rather simple and the characters usually have the same basic body shapes, but come in different colors, hair, eyes and other extras. Some of the adoptables look like they are done in ten minutes and then there are those who are recolored versions of existing copyrighted characters(like MLP or Pokemon).
Sorry for sounding rude, but are people this uncreative and stupid? With all that money they can commission artists to draw their very own characters just the way they want. Or even get a sculpture or plushie of their characters done. Instead they pay all that money for a premade character with a reused body shape just to have the right to "own" it? Do I get it right?
What if someone decides to redraws it(the adoptables often won't get removed after the auction)?
At least the artists get payed(good)and probably laugh all the way to the bank with all the cash they get from those dimwits.
Maybe I should do that too?
Can someone help me out with that one? What is so cool about it and what do they do with those characters once they bought it?
